The Galveston Police Department said the incident happened around 1:15 a.m. Monday in the 3100 block of Seawall Blvd. Police were called after getting reports of a man lying on the sidewalk.

Officers arrived and found the man who appeared to have been struck repeatedly and had injuries to his head and face. The victim was transported to UTMB where he is listed in critical condition.Detectives were able to develop leads, and on Tuesday morning, Trevor Tedore, 24, of Sugar Land, was arrested in League City.

Tedore was booked into the Galveston County Jail and is charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. His bond has been set at $200,000. Police say both Tedore and the victim were linemen working in Galveston performing power line repairs post-Hurricane Beryl and were staying at a nearby hotel. They say Tedore and the victim knew each other and worked for the same company.Christian Terry
