Assistant referee involved in elbow saga with Andy Robertson to resume normal Premier League duties this weekend
Constantine Hatzidakis will resume normal his on-field duties next weekendTelevision footage showed an altercation between the pair at half time resulting in Hatzidakis lashing out at the 29-year-old.
Hatzidakis is believed to have apologised to Robertson on a Zoom call, which was accepted by the Liverpool and Scotland defender.and made his return to duties during Preston’s clash with Blackburn last Saturday.He will resume normal duties this weekend when Manchester United host Aston Villa, assisting referee Jarred Gillett, the Premier League have announced.
But before he takes to the pitch at Old Trafford on Sunday, Hatzidakis will turn out as assistant VAR for Leicester City’s relegation clash with Leeds on Tuesday. It will signal the end of a long-running saga for Hatzidikis who maintained at the time that he did not intend to strike Robertson with his elbow.
