England and Manchester United star Ella Toone has announced the death of her father Nick, who has been a huge part of her career and was often seen supporting her
Ella Toone, the Manchester United footballer, has revealed her dad, Nick, passed away just days before his birthday. The 25 year old shared the heartbreaking news with her fans, explaining that her dad had been a huge part of her career, often seen cheering her on at matches, whether it was for Manchester United or England games with her Lioness teammates.
"I don't have the words right now but all I can say is I will miss you and I will never stop loving you. There's a big hole in my heart that can never be filled but all I can do now is continue to make you proud. You're the biggest reason I've achieved what I have, playing without you sat in the stands shouting COME ON UNITED won't ever be the same but you got the best seat in the house now dad, just make sure you remember to take your glasses for once.
Leah Williamson, Ella's teammate, sent a chain of red hearts. Tanya Bardsley, the wife of Macclesfield assistant manager Phil Bardsley, expressed her condolences, typing: "I'm so sorry for your loss," accompanied by crying emojis and red hearts. Georgia Stanway chimed in, stating: "He'll always have the best seat in the house. "Thinking of you and your family Tooney, added Kirsty Hanson.
Ellie Green, another member of Ella's squad at Manchester United, shared her own fond memories in a heartfelt tribute: "Bloody loved him so much. Thank you Nick for always looking out for me at games, telling me your jokes. Making sure I have the best seats at games, remember when he gave me one of your VIP lanyards families get to wear at Lionesses games, you was such a great man. Made me feel at home straight away at United.
