One-time friend says he loaned Barlow cash continually from 2010-2018. Barlow told Dailymail .com that the claim she owes 'money is untrue'. Carlson said that because of his long-running friendship with Barlow, the two did not set a timetable for when the funds would be repaid. Barlow issued a statement to Dailymail.com in regards to the suit, confirming her one-time friendship with Carlson, and responding to his claims of a debt. Barlow wrapped up in saying, 'I look forward to the truth coming out and I intend to hold Bart fully accountable for any damage this personal attack may cause me or my businesses.'
In a bio on her personal website, Reallisabarlow.com, Barlow describes herself as 'the definition of a serial entrepreneur' who 'has owned everything from luxury restaurants to luxury liquor brands.' Barlow opened up to Utah Business last August about developing her companies - and touted their financial successes.
