The Man United defender missed a total of 40 games through injury last season, playing just 14 times due to three separate setbacks.
Lisandro Martinez has admitted that Manchester United endured a poor campaign last season amid a spate of injury problems, a number of which he suffered himself.
United topped the list of most injuries suffered last term with 45 incidents of setbacks, not including several suffered during pre-season. It sidelined him until January, by which time United were out of the Champions League and League Cup. He only managed to play four matches before suffering a freak knock in February’s 3-0 win over West Ham. Martinez went on to only play the final two Premier League games of the season as United recorded their worst ever finish, but he did play 73 minutes of the FA Cup final win over Manchester City, having missed last year’s showpiece due to his metatarsal setback.
