A list of dates for Lagan Valley Island to be illuminated did not include July 12th Orange Order celebrations despite St Patrick's Day being an already annually agreed light up.
A council's new illumination policy has been criticised for not including the Twelfth Orange Order celebrations despite "St Paddy's Day" being an annual light up.
Raising omission concerns, Downshire West DUP Alderman, Allan Ewart said: "I have looked through the illumination list, I don't see any illumination for the 12th of July.A council officer told the chamber there had been no representation to propose LVI being illuminated for the Twelfth. "Belfast City Council was lit up last year and the year before and it is not even a unionist controlled or majority chamber."
