MANILA, Philippines — Several local government units ordered the suspension of classes in public and private schools on Friday, May 26, in anticipation of the impact of super typhoon Mawar.According to the state weather bureau, Mawar has no direct effect on the country so far but it may enter the Philippine area of responsibility on Friday evening or Saturday morning. Upon its entry to PAR, it would be given the local name Betty.
