The Little Mix star spoke out about being 'verbally abused'
The 28 year old, who recently got engaged to footballer Andre Gray, shared a now-deleted note on the official Little Mix Twitter account recalling the event.
"Despite this ordeal the staff at @waitrose sunningdale ran to my defence showing great kindness and care. One person wrote: "I can’t understand how people could be rude to somebody without any reason! i just hope you feeling better now cause we care about you and we love you!" [sic]While a third added: "fully prepared to chant ‘we love you leigh anne, we do’ at every single chance i get because leigh-anne pinnock deserves the entire world, nothing less". [sic]
She said: “From that interview, some people sympathised, some said nothing but one thing that I took from that experience is that the world did not care enough about race.”View gallery The singer then revealed how she felt “for the first time in my life” that “racism is the topic of conversation”.
