A stretch of the A590 in Cumbria was closed by police on Monday night after a "serious" crash on the edge of the Lake District. Diversions were put in place following the collision between Newby Bridge and Greenodd.
No major delays were being reported in the area as of 8pm but diversions remained in place. No further details have been given at this stage on the vehicle or vehicles involved or any casualties. Road users travelling westbound are advised to follow the Solid Square diversion symbol on road signsIn Bowness, at mini-roundabout take the first exit onto A592At Ambleside turn left onto the A5095 and follow road to junction with A593.Turn left onto the A5092 and continue to junction of A5092 and A590 at Greenodd.
