Live Charles Bronson public parole hearing updates as 'UK's most violent prisoner' makes bid for freedom
Dubbed one of Britain’s most violent offenders, Bronson – who changed his surname to Salvador in 2014 after the artist Salvador Dali – appeared on camera sat opposite a panel of parole judges wearing a black suit, white shirt and dark glasses.
In 1999 Bronson earned himself a life sentence, with a minimum term of three years, for taking his art teacher hostage at Hull Prison after he criticised his drawing ability. In 2019, Bronson stood trial and was acquitted on a charge of attempted grievous bodily harm on a governor at Wakefield jail in West Yorkshire.
