Britain's longest serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, is being laid to rest in a funeral ceremony today
Queen Elizabeth II's funeral is taking place in London today with dignitaries from around the world paying their respects to Britain's longest serving monarch.
The Queen took the throne upon the death of her father, King George VI in 1952 and reigned for more than 70 years as the Queen of the United Kingdom. At the time of her death, she was the Head of State for 15 sovereign states including among the Commonwealth. King Charles III took the throne as her successor and will attend the funeral alongside other members of the Royal Family, including his two children Prince William and Prince Harry. Queen Elizabeth II will also be the first monarch since George II in 1760 to have their ceremony conducted in Westminster Abbey.In attendance there will also be a number of Royal figures from across Europe.
Other heads of state will also be there, including the President of the United States, the President of France and the President of Italy. Many other dignitaries will also attend with the various Prime-Ministers of nations where the Queen was the head of state such as Canada and Australia expected to be there, alongside figures like Wang Qishan, China's vice President.
You will also be able to view the funeral live on TV or at viewing sites like Leeds' Millennium Square, Sheffield Cathedral, Ripon Cathedral, Bradford Cathedral and Scarborough's Grand Hall.Huge crowds at St James's Park
