Australia and India, the two top-ranked Test sides in the world, lock horns at The Oval to decide who will be the second ever ICC World Test Champions. Follow all the day one action in our live blog.
Good evening cricket fans and welcome to the ABC Sport coverage of the ICC World Test Championship Final between Australia and India.and I am thrilled to be here to take you through all the action as it happens throughout the night from The Oval.
It's a fascinating contest, despite the two teams having seen plenty of each other over the past few months after India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on home soil a matter of months ago. Obviously there is a trophy up for grabs in this match, but is that the principle focus for Australia with an Ashes series looming large on the horizon?
If the focus is on the Ashes more than the task ahead, that would count against Australia you'd think, but regardless, this isn't a bad warmup to have against the number one-ranked Test team on the planet.will be hoping to make amends for their defeat two years ago to New Zealand in Southampton.
