A statement from the PSNI said: "Police are currently in attendance at a security alert in Meadowlands in Antrim following a report of a suspicious object in the area.
"Ammunition Technical Officers have been tasked and cordons are in place at Meadowlands, Niblock Road and Ballymena Road. "Motorists are advised to avoid the area at present. A further update will be provided in due course."Second alert of the day In a separate incident on Wednesday in Co Antrim, a Newtownabbey road was closed off for several hours following the discovery of what police have described as a 'viable' pipe bomb device.
