Just before the music started for Nikita to walk down the aisle at the inner-city Brisbane registry on Sunday, in front of about 40 guests, the couple's South Bank reception venue called Flyn to cancel.The call came amid rising floodwaters, pending road closures and an electricity blackout. Flyn hung up before the venue could explain the reason for the phone call, preferring to focus on his bride and their nuptials.
He then handed his phone to a close friend after the 10:30am wedding ceremony to return the reception venue's call and start the process of trying to find somewhere else to host dozens of guests at short notice.
