Rishi Sunak is facing pressure to announce his decision on HS2 after reports the Prime Minister has decided to scrap the leg to Manchester.of the rail-line, despite widespread reports the government had decided to pull the plug on the project with a Cabinet meeting to be held in Manchester ahead of the announcement.
He said: "I know there’s a lot of speculation on HS2. All I would say is the way I approach this job, I take a look at the facts, I take my time to get the decision right on behalf of the country – whatever it might be – and that’s what I’ll do with this, as I do with everything else." “They are seeking to embarrass our city by making decisions about us without the decency to even talk to us. This is not about who you elect, It’s about how you do politics and make decisions and how you run a country," she said.
“What I want to do is make the right decision for the country. This is an enormous amount of people’s money, taxpayers’ money, everybody watching, billions and billions of pounds.
