Avanti West Coast, Northern and TransPennine Express are affected
National Rail said emergency services are dealing with an 'incident' and all lines are currently closed to allow them to safely carry out their work. A spokesperson said: "Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 80 minutes or revised."
It is expected to last until at least 1pm today . The disruption is affecting the Avanti West Coast service between Edinburgh/Glasgow Central and London Euston, Northern between Barrow-in-Furness/Windermere and Manchester Airport, and TransPennine Express between Edinburgh / Glasgow Central and Manchester Airport, and also between Glasgow Central and Liverpool Lime Street.Currently on the cancelled train approaching Preston. Need to get to Glasgow.
If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on the Avanti West Coast train immediately before, or immediately after the cancelled one.A coach is expected at Lancaster at approximately 11:00A coach is expected at Preston at approximately 11.40The train is less than 50% occupied with passengers.
