Snow has started to fall across Greater Manchester.
Snow has started falling across parts of Greater Manchester as the cold snap continues across the region. The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across parts of the UK, including Manchester, throughout Tuesday and lasting until Wednesday .
Forecasters had already predicted snow on Tuesday evening, and from around 5pm, the white stuff began falling across parts of Wigan and Bolton. It was also seen falling over parts of Whitefield, Prestwich and also Manchester city centre. For many, Tuesday morning was already an icy start as sub-zero temperatures were recorded overnight. Some areas of Greater Manchester recorded temperatures as cold as -3C, with misty and foggy conditions.
