The counting of votes will determine if that situation remains the same, with Ashfield District Council and Bassetlaw District Council being the first authorities where counting will start. Those two councils will both be counting overnight on Thursday immediately after the 10pm closing of polls.
The other six councils are having their election counts throughout Friday. As well as votes for councillors, Mansfield has been one of just four areas of England where voting for a mayor has also been taking place.
