Disruption is expected to continue
Passengers are facing major disruption between Manchester and Yorkshire after a freight train broke down. The incident has happened on the line at Greenfield,A TransPennine Express spokesperson wrote on X: "Due to a broken down freight train between Manchester Piccadilly and Huddersfield, some lines are blocked. Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled or delayed.
"This is currently blocking some lines toward Huddersfield. We are looking into how this disruption may impact your journey and we will update you on any alternative travel options as soon as possible.""A broken down train in the Greenfield area means some lines are blocked.The train is stuck on the line between Stalybridge and Huddersfield, on the Yorkshire-bound side.
