Trains have been stopped on a line in Greater Manchester due to flooding. Services heading between Wigan Wallgate and Headbolt Lane in Kirkby, Merseyside , have been stopped.in the Up Holland area, west of Wigan . Disruption is expected for at least three hours. A Northern spokesperson wrote on X: "Due to flooding between"Services running through these stations will be terminated at and started back from Wigan Wallgate.
A National Rail spokesperson added: "The line between Wigan Wallgate and Headbolt Lane has flooded. This means that all lines between these stations are currently closed.
