The child killer is set to find out the number of years he will spend behind bars
Axel Rudakubana returns to court this morning to be sentenced for the murders of three girls at a dance class in Southport .
Rudakubana further pleaded guilty to possessing a knife on the date of the killings, which he bought on Amazon, production of a biological toxin, ricin, on or before July 29, and possession of information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing to commit an act of terrorism.
Others will be watching proceedings via a video link. The ECHO is one of a select number of media organisations that will have a seat in the main courtroom.He can undoubtedly expect a life term in prison with a significant minimum term. Axel Rudakubana, 18, who has pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to murdering three young girls, Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe and Alice da Silva Aguiar, in a knife attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. Rudakubana has also pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of eight other children and to the attempted murder of Leanne Lucas and Jonathan Hayes in Southport, Merseyside on July 29, 2024Axel Rudakubana was referred to counter-terrorism police several times, the ECHO can reveal.

Mr Reiz: “The defendant hasn’t identified himself but there isn’t any dispute that the man in the dock is Axel Rudakubana and he can hear what’s being said.”We are in position in courtroom 51 now. "However, you may be in risk of being in contempt of court if you publish material or comment online that is inaccurate, unfair, or involves discussion or commentary which could influence the jury’s deliberations. This includes anything that asserts or assumes, expressly or implicitly, the guilt of Axel Rudakubana. This is due to the risk of potentially jeopardising the criminal trial.
