The tree is blocking a part of Livingston Road South

Pictures taken by the Liverpool ECHO show the huge tree blocking part of Livingston Road South where it meets Aigburth Road, near Sefton Park.

It is not known whether anyone has been injured. We have contacted Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service for more information. It appears the road is still open to pedestrians who are making their way around the large fallen tree.Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted but the ECHO understands their assistance has not been requested.Pictures from the scene show the huge tree which is totally uprooted and has crashed down into the middle of the road.
