Paramedics, Emergency Care Assistants, call handlers and other staff will stage major pickets across our region
Due to the strike, ambulances will only respond to life-threatening injuries and illnesses.
North West Ambulance Service said: "During the industrial strike action today, ambulances will still be available to respond, although they will be prioritised for life-threatening injuries and illnesses."A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "Our staff are striking in more service areas today. We have reduced ambulance crews but also reduced 999, 111 call handling staff and patient transport service staff.
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We will see disruptions across all of our services today, please only call 999 for life-threatening injuries or illnesses.
