Beryl is expected to affect weather across much of the Eastern United States this week after making landfall on the Texas coast early Monday. The predicted track of Beryl and its remnants are raising concerns for heavy rain and flooding as far north as Michigan and New England.
The National Weather Service was forecasting 2 to 4 inches of rain for many locations and “local maximums upwards of 8 inches.” By Wednesday and Thursday, the risk of heavy rain reaches the Great Lakes and Northeast. “The exact location of the heaviest rainfall will be dependent on the location of the frontal boundary but there is a growing signal for a broad area to be impacted by the heavy rains,” the National Weather Service said.
