The LAPD breached and dismantled a pro-Palestinian encampment at UCLA on Thursday. At Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, police said they arrested 90 protesters.
Yale students who held a march at the university Wednesday night before being met by police said Yale police officers had “violently assaulted” people carrying out a peaceful protest. In a statement from students and community members, protesters said the university police arrested two people without giving the group any warnings. Officers, according to the protest group, then tackled protesters, slammed their faces into the ground, and “shoved and grabbed” people.
“The group refused to disperse after repeated warnings from the Yale Police Department that they were violating university policies by occupying parts of campus without permission,” said Karen Peart with Yale’s media office. The university did not respond to specific allegations from the student group.
