Hezbollah launched "dozens of rockets" at two Israeli bases "in response to the Israeli enemy's attacks on the south and the Bekaa" in Lebanon's east, after targeting three other sites earlier in the day as part of their retaliation.Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused Israel of seeking a wider conflict, which he said would not benefit anyone, as he insisted Tehran was not destabilising the region.
As of 4pm local time, Israeli strikes had killed more than 180 people in southern Lebanon and injured more than 400, with the death toll including women, children and emergency workers. "The attacks that we saw on the communication devices, the pagers, followed by rocket attacks and rocket fire being exchanged on both sides … marks a real escalation," she said.
