Leicester are one of several clubs interested in signing the Scotland forward either on loan or permanently
and could test the Reds with a bid. Doak, 18, is eager for more first-team football after overcoming a serious knee injury last season which needed surgery.
That did not stop Scotland calling him up for Euro 2024 only for another injury to rule him out of the tournament. But Doak will now see himself as a senior player after the international call-up. The former Celtic kid plans to sit down with manager Arne Slot after the club’s pre-season tour in the US to see what his options are and decide if he will go out on loan or not.
The Reds now must decide if they will allow Doak to leave permanently or on loan this summer. Any deal would include a hefty sell-on clause or potentially a buy-back deal but there is a lot of interest and a loan looks the most likely move for the youngster.
