Two Liverpool chefs, Jack Bond and Livia Alarcon, will be representing the city on the upcoming season of BBC's Great British Menu. They will compete against two other North West chefs for a coveted spot in the finals.

Two Liverpool chefs are set to compete on the upcoming season of BBC 's Great British Menu . Jack Bond , the head chef and co-owner of the Michelin-starred The Cottage in the Wood in Cumbria, and Livia Alarcon , the owner of modern European restaurant La Bistroteca at Liverpool's Baltic Market, will be vying for a single spot in the finals.

Bond, originally from Crosby, has worked in renowned restaurants in London and New York, but has returned to the northwest to pursue his dream of running a restaurant with his wife, Beth. Since taking on the restaurant, they have retained their Michelin star and earned three AA rosettes under Bond's leadership. Alarcon, the youngest competitor to appear on the program, brings a wealth of experience and acclaim to the competition. The chefs will face off against two other talented individuals representing the North West: Eddie Shepherd, known for his plant-led cuisine at Manchester's underground restaurant The Walled Gardens, and James Hill, the two-AA rosette holder and Head Chef of The Oak at Curthwaite in Carlisle. The nine-week series will showcase the regional heats before culminating in a grand finals week and a historical banquet at Blenheim Palace. This year's 'Great Britons' theme will inspire the chefs to create dishes based on notable figures from their local area, both past and present. The top menus will be featured at a special banquet celebrating the show's 20th anniversary.Andi Oliver hosts the series alongside judges Tom Kerridge, a double banquet winner and Michelin-starred chef; comedian and food podcaster Ed Gamble; and newcomer Lorna McNee, a Michelin-starred chef from Scotland's Cail Bruich and a former champion of champions on Great British Menu. Be sure to catch Jack and Livia on Great British Menu on Tuesday, January 28, at 8pm on BBC Two and iPlayer
