Liverpool Disco Festival celebrates its 10th edition this month with no signs of slowing down
Liverpool has solidified itself as one of the top music cities in the world. On The Waterfront continues to push homegrown talent, the handling of the Eurovision Song Contest was hailed as the best in recent years, and venues all over the city welcome global heavyweights like Cream Classical on a regular basis.
James told the ECHO: "When I looked around at what there was to offer, there was loads of house and dance stuff going on but there was no disco. In its infancy, Liverpool Disco Festival catered to a 3,600 capacity which sold out in its first year. The demand was there and more than enough reason to make it a recurring event, building on each previous year's success.
James said: "We can see exactly where people purchase tickets and we can see them travelling as far as Birmingham and even London. We have so many people from different communities come and enjoy themselves which is great to see and be a part of. It feels like we're bringing people together in a way."
