The funding is in honour of the Empire Theatre Trust’s late chairman Terry Smith
The funding in honour of the Empire Theatre Trust’s late chairman Terry Smith represents a 20 percent increase on last year’s inaugural handout figure. It brings the total given by the Trust to £22,000 in two years and highlights significant continuing support for young arts students trying to make their way in the theatre, film and television sector.
David Morgan, trust chairman said: "The Trustees believe supporting our young adults who have studied and performed with the Empire Youth Theatre and taken part in the Creative Learning programmes which the Trust supports, is a fitting way to honour Terry’s memory. “Not only do these young people deserve our help given the talent, drive and passion they showed in their applications, we are acutely aware of the current challenges they face given the increased cost of living.”
