Liverpool's Roberto Firmino shared a lengthy social media post after he missed out on the Brazil World Cup squad LFC
Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino posted a magnanimous message following his agony of missing out on a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad., with the likes of Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli and Tottenham forward Richarlison preferred.Firmino has fallen victim to the array of attacking talent at his country’s disposal, with Antony, Gabriel Jesus, Martinelli, Neymar, Pedro, Raphinha, Richarlison, Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr all making it in the squad.
In 12 matches in the Premier league this season, Firmino has found the net six times, which is more than Arsenal duo Jesus and Martinelli, Manchester United’s Antony and Tottenham’s Richarlison.Advertisement He has since taken to Instagram to express his devastation at not being included in Brazil’s squad for the upcoming tournament in the Gulf State.
“Passing by to say thank you for all the lovely messages. The World Cup is a dream for every player and with me it wouldn’t be any different,” Firmino said. “Yesterday things didn’t go the way I imagined or dreamed for my life but I can look back and have a grateful heart to God that he has already allowed me to live that dream as well as so many others. You, Lord, will keep in perfect peace him whose purpose is firm, because he trusts in you.
