Real Sociedad's defensive midfielder Martin Zubimendi is Liverpool manager Arne Slot's top target in the summer transfer window
Martin Zubimendi has been named on the bench for Real Sociedad’s final pre-season friendly against Union Berlin. Liverpool are continuing to work on a deal to make the midfielder their first signing of the Arne Slot era.
He trained as normal with his team-mates on Thursday despite confirmation of Liverpool’s interest, and was included in their travelling squad for Friday night’s friendly with Union Berlin. However, in contrast, team-mate Mikel Merino was left out of the travelling party amid ongoing transfer speculation linking him with Arsenal.
