The festival will kick off on Sunday August 27 from 12pm Curiously
Liverpool’s grassroots BlackFest is returning with a programme of music, fashion and more taking place across the city.
This will launch on October 17 and workshops will take place on 19, 21 and 25 October. Then, there will be a book launch with award winning author, playwright and rapper Ash Nugent at the Liverpool Lighthouse in Anfield September 25. A night of poetry at The Palm House in Sefton Park will take place on September 28 with an exceptional lineup of Liverpool’s and Manchester emerging and established poets Naami J Soya, Sian the Visionary, Sidney Conteh and Alexis Maxwell. There will be an open mic for any budding poets in the audience.
Thanks to Community Foundation Lancashire & Merseyside, BlackFest are hosting a huge fashion festival at the plush Zenn venue on Victoria Street. Award winning fashion designers will be attending, such as Tayamika Fashion, Tare Isaac, Enadia and Cultureville, Lohi Founder of Afrofashion UK.
