The ECHO's end-of-season ratings continue with an assessment of Kostas Tsimikas, whose Liverpool future is shrouded in uncertainty
Bukayo Saka has made a habit of destroying defences in recent years. But the Arsenal winger may have inadvertently sent one Liverpool career tumbling towards a disappointing conclusion.
The result saw Tsimikas whisked off to hospital where it was confirmed he had suffered a broken collarbone. And the Greece international was subsequently barely seen in the Premier League.Cody GakpoIt encapsulated what was a tough campaign for Tsimikas, who found himself firmly behind Andy Robertson in the left-back pecking order at the beginning of the season and by the end had Joe Gomez ahead of him in the position also.
Tsimikas is a player who needs rhythm and it took a while for the Greek to get up to speed, culminating in a poor outing in the Europa League loss at Toulouse. That, though, was a turning point, and a few days later he contributed two assists in the win over Brentford. He was impressive in the draw at Manchester City and had maintained a good level of performance before falling victim to the clumsy Saka.
