Trey Nyoni was on the mark once more as Liverpool U18s earned an impressive 4-2 win at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday
New signing Trey Nyoni scored his first competitive goal for Liverpool under-18s as they secured an entertaining victory at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
Liverpool had gone 3-0 ahead through Wellity Lucky and Jayden Danns - who has scored in all five games this season - but needed an injury-time strike from Trent Kone-Doherty to seal the win after Blackburn scored a quickfire brace in the closing quarter. Nyoni netted a hat-trick in the 10-0 friendly win over Southend United last week, and scored after only five minutes against Blackburn when volleying home a cross from Kone-Doherty. Lucky doubled the lead on 33 minutes when heading home a Ben Trueman free-kick before Danns scored a fine individual effort shortly after the hour as he beat two defenders and cut inside to fire home a low shot.
