The Swatch store failed to open on Saturday after huge crowds gathered
A Liverpool ONE shop has been forced to close for a second day after queues formed. Hundreds queued along Paradise Street in the city centre yesterday , with a smaller number waiting outside the shop on Sunday morning, all hoping to get their hands on a sought-after Royal Pop pocket watch.between Swatch and luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet was only available in-store, with a limit of one watch per person per day.
The £335 watch is already being pre-sold on websites such as eBay for quadruple the price.has become something of a viral sensation, with huge crowds forming outside Swatch shops in Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff, Sheffield, Birmingham and London, which all remained closed yesterday. A man believed to be the shop’s manager addressed the crowd, saying: “There is no Royal Pop on sale today, it has all been removed from stores.
" Rami Awward, 41, had returned to the shop for a second day. He said: “It’s a joke. Fair enough if they told people they weren’t selling them today on social media beforehand, but that’s not what they’ve done.
“I’m an avid Swatch collector, I’ve got lots of the collaborations, and I want it for my personal collection. The way it’s going, I’ll probably never get it. ” A Swatch statement released on social media this weekend read: "To all our dear fans worldwide of our AP X Swatch collab, launched on May 16.
