Mark Bohannon offered some advice to men after building up years of experience
A Liverpool senior personal trainer has revealed the “common pitfall” among men when they go to the gym. Mark Bohannon, from the city centre’s Ultimate Performance , said there is one mistake that “even seasoned gym goers make” more often than not. The chief experience officer explained how “ego-lifting” tends to dominate some men’s time when they workout. He said the error isn’t beneficial in the long-term, even if it does give you “bragging rights” on the day.
'It might give you bragging rights to say, but the guy next to you lifting half that weight, but lifting the weights correctly, is going to be stronger than you.” Mark said the process of getting stronger is known as hypertrophy – which is the scientific term for increasing the size of your muscle cells. He explained how going too heavy with weights leads to poor control and technique.
