A Liverpool venue has been named amongst the top UK curry restaurants after winning a British Curry Award.
Mowgli was started by former barrister Nisha Katona, who opened her first restaurant on Liverpool's Bold Street in 2014. Her second Liverpool restaurant opened on Water Street in 2016 and over the years Mowgli has expanded to cities across the UK including Manchester, Birmingham, Oxford, Nottingham, Leicester, Leeds and more.
This year’s British Curry Awards paid tribute to the late Enam Ali MBE, the event’s founder who worked tirelessly to promote the curry industry globally for over 45 years. In a video message of support towards the event, Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak said, “The thing I’ve learnt about being Prime Minister is that the best training I ever had was working in a curry house. I know how hard every one of you works from the chefs to the waiters to the restaurant managers and the delivery drivers.
