Liverpool are reportedly in the market for a new midfielder from the Bundesliga. Reports have claimed that Freiburg star Merlin Rohl is a player of interest to the Reds ahead of the January transfer window. According to Bundesliga reporter Christian Falk for Sport Bild , Liverpool have placed Rohl on their shortlist of transfer targets, with scouts already watching the Germany Under-21 international in action.
The 22-year-old plays in midfield for Freiburg but is also capable of performing in a No.10 role or on the right wing. Rohl scored three goals with four assists for the German club last season and has made three appearances this term in the Bundesliga. After signing the contract extension earlier this month, Rohl outlined the motivations he has for the remainder of his career.
