Mohamed Salah is set to provide a huge pre-season boost to Liverpool with Egypt increasingly resigned to seeing him miss the Olympic Games.
The tournament begins on July 24 with the final taking place on August 9, just eight days before the Reds kick off their Premier League season and while there has been no official dialogue, sources in Egypt have told the ECHO how the Pharaohs are now "90% sure" the Reds forward will remain with his club over the pre-season period, providing Arne Slot with a considerable boost as he plots his first summer in the job.
Turkish club Trabzonspor confirmed this week that striker Mohamed Trezeguet won't be involved at the Olympics, revealing they had rejected their player's wishes to be involved. Speaking last month, Egypt's men's football coach for the Games, Rugero Micali, outlined his hope that Salah would be in the squad for the competition that begins with a meeting with the Dominican Republic on July 25.
