Though Liverpool were somewhat wasteful in front of goal, with Curtis Jones blazing a golden opportunity wide, goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who joined the club from Manchester United last summer, more than played his part, making five saves in total, the best of which denied Darwin Nunez from point-blank range.
City are not in Premier League action next week, instead facing Chelsea in the semi-final of the FA Cup. Before that, though, both sides will navigate European ties in midweek, with City hosting Real Madrid in the Champions League and Liverpool travelling to Italy to lock horns with Atalanta in the Europa League.
