Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted Liverpool are unlikely to see investment from Saudi Arabia despite John Henry’s involvement with the country’s Private Investment Fund ., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed PIF’s involvement with Newcastle would mean investing in the Reds is a “huge conflict”.
Henry added to his sporting portfolio by entering the world of golf earlier this year, leading a massive $3billion group investment in the PGA Tour.Wyness claimed Liverpool are unlikely to benefit from Henry’s links with Saudi Arabia, who have made a huge play in football in recent years and will host the World Cup in 2034.
