Joel Nouble was brought down for the penalty that resulted in Livi's equaliser - and admits he was surprised the ref gave the spot-kick

Livingston forward Joel Nouble admits he understands St Johnstone's anger after his tumble inside the box rescued a point in Perth for the Lions.

Nouble said: "I felt contact but if St Johnstone are annoyed by it I can understand why. If it was at the other end, I’d feel it was a bit soft. I was surprised the ref gives that one when I get many worse challenges in games and don’t get the foul. “But when I got up I said to the linesman, ‘He better be checking that because it’s studs’ – even though he got the ball initially. About 10 years ago it’s probably play on. I’ve had worse challenges than that. But in today’s game you’ve got to adjust and you can’t give the ref that decision to make.

Nouble admits he wants to see an upturn both personally and as a team, saying: "We’re not creating as many chances as we want to. Most teams are putting more focus on trying to stop balls into me which I do understand.
