Speaker of the House Mike Johnson attending former President Donald Trump's hush money trial in New York City 'surprised' former Representative Liz Cheney, she wrote in a social media post.Johnson is making an appearance at the trial on Tuesday to show support for Trump nearly one month after the trial began.
'The release said he would address the 'political persecution' of Trump' by 'Biden's weaponized Department of Justice and the left-wing Manhattan district attorney.'Newsweek reached out to Johnson's office for comment via email.Johnson's appearance at Trump's trial comes less than one week after he survived a vote called by Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene on whether to remove him from his position.
