Since the MLB All-Star break, the Missions have struggled, losing eight of their last ten games. “It just seems like this is almost one of the worst times we've spoken this summer,” Missions manager Luke Montz told the Express-News. “We just did not play good baseball at all.” San Antonio 's recent series against Midland also ended in disappointment, but amid the challenges, a bright spot emerged.

He has not allowed a run in seven of his 17 starts for San Antonio. Lizarraga tied a season-high with eight strikeouts and allowed only two hits in seven scoreless innings against Midland. This was the longest outing of his career.
