The Lloyds banking app appears to be experiencing widespread issues, with hundreds of customers reporting difficulties making or receiving payments. Consumers have encountered problems throughout Monday, February 3rd, when attempting online transactions. According to Downdetector, a real-time outage tracking website, approximately 400 users have reported issues since early morning. The majority of reported problems, over 60%, center around fund transfers .

An additional 24% and 14% of users have reported issues with online banking and mobile banking respectively. The outage map indicates the most significant problems are concentrated in England, although there are some reports of difficulties in the Glasgow area of Scotland. The extent of the issue across the entire UK remains unclear. Frustrated users have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their dissatisfaction. One user wrote, 'Mine and my partner's salary transfers have not been received into our Lloyds accounts, despite having debited our HSBC business account, and we both have payments due out. What is going on?' Another user stated, 'Sent money over 2 hours to my Lloyds account, it’s still not received in my account'. A third user lamented, 'Sort out your system!! Sent money to my account over 2 hours ago now!!! Normally goes in instantly wtf is going on... People have children to provide for which are having to go without because the money wasn’t there straight away on an ‘instant’ transfer.'Lloyds Bank has issued a statement acknowledging the issue and apologizing for the inconvenience. A spokesperson said, 'We know some customers are having issues making or receiving payments. We're sorry for this and are working to have everything back to normal. We're looking to resolve this as soon as possible. Faster Payments are currently being processed however we are experiencing some delays.'
