The ABC's Antony Green declares the LNP a clear winner in the formerly safe Labor seat of Ipswich West, west of Brisbane, as counting continues after yesterday's by-election. Labor looks set to hang on in the seat of Inala despite an even bigger swing to the LNP.
Queensland's Labor government has lost a once-safe seat after heavy swings to the Liberal National Party in both state by-elections held yesterday.
In the other by-election in the south-west Brisbane sseat of Inala, the swing against the ALP is even larger, but Labor's Margie Nightingale appears on track to retain the seat of former premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.
