Local Bakery Experiences Sweet Success in First Year

Pastille Bakery, a Liverpool-based bakery, has achieved remarkable success in its inaugural year, selling out at markets, launching a flagship store, and collaborating with renowned bakeries.

A local baker who only opened shop this year has received unbelievable support and numerous successes. Pastille Bakery found its footing in the kitchen of founder Jamie Heffey's home years ago. With the help of his partner and mum, the three whipped up a storm to take tasty treats to markets and pop-ups where they continuously sold out of items. Now, barely more than a year since its creation, Pastille Bakery has opened its first official venue in the city centre.

Lovers of sweet treats and baked goods will only have to travel to the Liverpool Waters area to grab their favourites. Everything from egg custard tarts and pain au chocolates to cereal milk blondies and ornate masterpiece desserts are available but they don't stay around for long. Jamie told the ECHO in May: 'We're buzzing to finally open. We've always had a great response from people at pop-ups and markets and we usually sell out. Everything is gone by the end of the day. The soft launch sold out too so it gives us a nice idea of what to expect with the venue. We're excited for everyone to see what we've done with the place and see where we go from here. In August, Pastille announced collaboration with Lancashire's famous Finch Bakery following 'constant demand' in Liverpool. Finch Bakery boasts more than 200,000 Instagram followers and is best known for its colourful treats, exotic flavours and ornate creations. The collaboration was another huge hit with sweet treats selling out long before close. Fast forward to November and Jamie was already preparing for his third Pastille adventure. With an already thriving bakery under his belt, the next step saw Jamie open a dessert bar in the Baltic Market. Pastille Dessert Bar served the same treats fans have come to love including brownies, cereal milk cheesecake, doughnuts, and traditional baked goods. New additions even included ice-cream.
