Local elections 2023 in Greater Manchester: Date, candidates, photo ID rules and how to vote
People across Greater Manchester will soon be able to cast their vote in the local elections this May.
What date are the local elections? Voting takes place on Thursday, May 4 with polling stations open from 7am until 10pm. The results will be declared on Friday May 5. All applications for a proxy votes must be sent in six days before polling stations open, so by 5pm on Wednesday, April 26. According to gov.uk, you normally only need to register to vote once - not for every election.
Anyone without the correct identification needs to apply for a voter authority certificate by Tuesday April 25.
