The nation has been the envy of the world for its rapid and effective handling of the crisis, particularly after passing the 100 day milestone.
Public health officials said four people in a six person household tested positive for Covid-19 in Auckland, which is New Zealand’s largest city.From tomorrow, bars, restaurants, schools and non-essential shops will be closed until at least midnight on Friday in Auckland, while movement in and out of the city will be restricted.
Authorities hope their swift action will help to manage the potential spread of the virus following the latest outbreak. ‘One of the most important lessons we’ve learned from overseas is the need to go hard and go early and stamp out flare-ups to avoid the risk of wider outbreak,’ she said.
